Recently, there was an epic case of poor sportsmanship following a youth wrestling match in Illinois.
The incident occurred at the “Beat The Streets” tournament at Oak Park (Ill.) High School on April 8. In a matchup between eighth graders, Cooper Corder of SPAR Academy beat Maine West High School’s Hafid Alicea 14-2, and when Corder went to shake Alicea’s hand post-match, the losing grappler sucker-punched him. You can see video of the shocking punch below. Alicea is in the blue singlet, with Cooper wearing orange. Corder reportedly suffered a nose injury and must now wear a face mask during matches, but is doing well overall. According to TMZ Sports, police are now investigating the incident. The parents of both wrestlers are cooperating with authorities.
