A stolen California Highway Patrol (CHP) cruiser was involved in a high-speed chase in the Antelope Valley, which ended in tragedy. The suspect, who was reported to have mental health issues, took the vehicle after a collision in the Santa Clarita region. During the pursuit, the suspect displayed an assault rifle and a shotgun, despite officers attempting to use a spike strip to stop the vehicle.
The chase came to an end on the 138 Freeway when the suspect jumped from the moving vehicle while it was traveling at approximately 45 mph. The impact caused the suspect to hit his head on the roadway, rendering him unconscious. Officers quickly called for medical assistance and began performing CPR. Unfortunately, the suspect did not survive and was later pronounced dead at a hospital, as reported by TMZ.
