Man charged with stealing ambulance, leading police on chase

A man is facing charges after allegedly stealing an ambulance and leading police on a chase early Thursday in suburban Joliet.

Henry McCall, 58, is charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing and eluding, obstructing a peace officer and driving with a suspended license, Joliet police said in a statement.

McCall allegedly stole a Wilmington Fire Department ambulance about 12:45 a.m. from St. Joseph Medical Center, police said. Officers spotted the ambulance as it traveled west on Jefferson Street at Barney Drive and tried to stop it, but McCall allegedly refused to pull over. Continue Reading
