Miami man called the police to confess that he had killed his girlfriend in a jealous rage after she according to him told him “she had a better man than him.”
Victims in this case was a beloved popular LGBTQ activist, performer and a pageant queen. Yunieski Carey Herrera was 39 year old born and raised in Cuba. Hererra lived with her grandmother in Miami and previously won the Miss Trans Cuba Beauty pageant.
Her alleged killer is 28 year old Ygor Arrudasouza, who made the 911 call himself to say that he had stabbed his girlfriend in their downtown Miami apartment. During his first court appearance Arrudasouza admitted to stabbing Hererra with a fork and a knife, he also admitted being under the influence of methamphetamine.
