Man Shot Dead Outside A Funeral Home By Two Men On A Moped In Washington Heights, NY

A man was shot and critically wounded after two gunmen on a moped opened fire outside a Washington Heights funeral home Wednesday night, police sources said.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, was hit several times outside the McGonnell Funeral Home on St. Nicholas Ave. at W. 175th St. just after 11 p.m.

“There were five shots and he was lying in the street behind the last parked car,” said a local handyman who gave his name as Roberto, 38.

“The guys in the moped were long gone. The police were pumping his chest. The EMTs were still pumping his chest when they put him in the ambulance. It didn’t look like he was going to make it.”

Medics took the victim to New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center, where he died.
