A pregnant British woman hospitalised with coronavirus took to social media to urge people to heed government warnings, saying she was fighting for her baby’s life. Karen Mannering, 39, made the plea from a hospital bed, saying she was 26 weeks pregnant and had been diagnosed with COVID-19, leaving her with pneumonia in both lungs. The woman said she had been ill for two weeks and was now “fighting for me and my baby’s life”, while unable to see her husband or three children at home.
