A porn-addicted paedophile who was serving a 17 year extended sentence for abusing children as young as six months old has died in custody.

Jared Perry, 32, who was deemed an “extremely high risk” to children, died at Parc Prison in south Wales on November 3rd.

It is understood that Perry, who pleaded guilty to a string of indecent assaults on children before being locked up in January, had attempted to take his own life and died later in hospital.

Ian Coles, deputy director of HMP Parc, said: “On 3 November 2019, Mr Perry passed away in hospital.

“As with all deaths in custody, this will be investigated by the Prison and Probation Ombudsman.”

Swansea Crown Court heard that Perry abused both boys and girls – some of whom were just less than six months old.

The court heard that police only found out when Perry went to a police station and asked to speak to an officer who, over the course of seven interviews, was told what he had done.

Perry, who was described as a “controlling and manipulative” person, was brought up in a strict religious environment and began watching pornography from an early age to which he later became “addicted”.

It was heard that the porn was initially adult but then progressed to images of young children.

He also began to abuse drugs. SOURCE
