A woman was arrested for allegedly leaving two babies locked in a car outside a Walmartduring this weekend’s scorching heat wave in Southern California, police said.
Police responded to reports of two young children locked inside a car at the store in Ontario at 7:45 p.m., local police said Tuesday.
The officers found a 9-month-old and a 1-year-old inside the car, which wasn’t running and did not have air conditioning on, police said. Officials believe the babies were in the car for more than a half hour and appeared to be in distress due to the high temperature.
