London Breed winning the election for San Francisco mayor. She becomes the city’s first woman of color to win the seat and just its second woman mayor ever. Of the country’s 15 biggest cities, all have male mayors — until now. London Breed‘s win is also important for the city’s dwindling African-American community, which now makes up less than 5% of San Francisco after the flattening of their neighborhoods in the name of urban renewal and due to today’s insane cost of living.
