Pregnant Girlfriend Pours Boiling Water On College Football Player Boyfriend

The college career of FIU senior tight end Jonnu Smith is officially over, and there are now serious doubts as to whether he will ever play professional football. And it’s all because of his angry girlfriend – allegedly.

Jonnu Smith was FIU’s top offensive player over his four seasons, and he was gearing up for his best year ever – as he was looking to become a 2017 NFL Draft prospect. But that all ended on Halloween when his girlfriend poured boiling water over his head and face.

According to the arrest affidavit, Jonnu suffered severe burns on his head, neck, back, a shoulder and an arm. His five months pregnant girlfriend, Mary Gaspar, was charged with aggravated battery.

According to the report, Jonnu and Mary argued about their relationship, and his possible infidelity. That night, Mary began “feeling extremely emotional and stressed,” she told police, and she boiled a pot of water, walked over to Jonnu and dumped it on his head.

The burns are considered sever enough to have ended his college football career, and possibly his NFL chances also.
